Live. On to our first story. In the final two years of his life, Pope Francis took a particular

interest in the condition of Catholics at the Holy Family Church in the north of the Gaza Strip.

He called their parish priest every day,

and it was a relationship that was widely reported on when Pope Francis died.

He lifted their spirits at a time when Garzans feel abandoned by the world.

Pope Francis was outspoken on the war.

In a statement on Easter Sunday, he called for a ceasefire, for the release of hostages,

and to aid for the quote, starving people of Gaza.
