The temporary ceasefire in the fighting in Gaza is set to end.

Meanwhile, there is an explosion of violence carried out by the Israeli defense forces against

Palestinian people in the West Bank.

What comes next?

We need a new system. We need a new society.

We need to demand that which may have sounded impossible even a few weeks ago, but is not only realizable, but an imperative necessity.

Abby, everything has changed in global politics since October 7th.

There has been a sea change in consciousness in the United States.

Hundreds of thousands, I would say, at this point, millions of people have been in the streets,

demanding that the U.S. cut aid to Israel, demanding an end to U.S. support for apartheid and occupation, demanding before it happened, a ceasefire and now a permanent

ceasefire so that the killing spree by the Israeli defense forces in Gaza come to an end,

not for a moment, but permanently. A huge change in public consciousness.

In the region, in the Middle East,

people are in the streets and all of the countries,

including the reactionary Arab regimes

that had been strategic partners in one way or another

with the Israeli government.
