0:12.7	We begin this hour in Los Angeles, where that death toll as a result of those wildfires still burning is now at least 16.
0:23.3	Thousands have fled their homes. It is a rapidly changing situation and I want to walk you through the map of where this is all taking
0:29.0	place. Now three fires continue to burn across LA with one blaze fully contained. That's the
0:35.1	Hurst fire in the north. The largest blade is in the
0:38.9	Palisades area, one of the most exclusive parts of the city in the west. And that border Santa
0:44.5	Monica and the famous Malibu coasts. More than 23,000 acres have now burnt there. If we move eastwards,
0:53.0	north-eastwards rather, to the second biggest fire, that's
0:55.5	the Eaton fire and that's in a more working-class area. That's covered 13 and a half thousand acres and
1:01.7	it's devastated the area of Altadena, home to more than 40,000 people. With us now live from the
1:07.9	ground is Chief Chad Augustine, the fire chief of the city of Pasadena,
1:12.2	which sits just south of Altadena. Thanks for being with us. Can you give us an update on the
1:17.1	situation where you are at the moment? Thank you so much for having me here. Yeah, I can give you a
1:22.5	current update. The Eden Fire is currently at 14,117 acres, and we're up to 27% containment.
1:31.2	And a lot of that containment increased was due to favorable weather and wind conditions over the last 24 hours.
1:37.9	Unfortunately, we're going right back into red flight conditions with some potential disastrous wind conditions between now and Wednesday
1:46.6	with the peak winds expected to be on Tuesday. So while we're making some progress, the end is not
1:55.2	even close yet. There have been some concerns about resources and resources being limited.
2:02.7	Where do you stand with that?
2:10.6	Yeah, currently the Eaton Fire has over 3,100 firefighters from all over the western United States.
2:19.4	Many of those are from California, but we also have Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and other states with more reinforcements coming to assist.
