Absolutely a momentous day in terms of hopefully achieving some lasting peace.

Speaking of which, coming up tonight, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire, but will it

really end the war?

Early this morning, Israel signed a ceasefire agreement with Hamas after hours of last-minute wrangling over the details in Cairo.

Israel's cabinet is currently needing to ratify the deal.

If they do, the ceasefire could be in place within 24 hours.

But of course, that's a long time in which to

continue bombing Gaza, with Israel continuing to assault the enclave throughout today.

Explosions have continued to rock the enclave throughout the day as Israeli airstrikes continued,

hitting areas including southern Gaza and parts of Gaza City. Meanwhile, Israeli tanks were also filmed firing near

civilians using the coastal road around the Almabasi zone. So what exactly has been agreed?

Well, both Hamas and Israel have signed up to the first part of what's been called the Trump

Peace Plan. The US President Donald Trump announced the news on truth social late last night, saying this.

I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first phase of our peace plan.
