We take time to share people's experiences in Israel and Gaza.

They talk about their lives, their fears and their hopes for the future,

and also the damage that the conflict has

inflicted both physically and mentally. Maybe when we were younger we used to

be scared of death itself but nowadays we don't fear it because you know

death for us nowadays is much better than living in Gaza because we are suffering every day

many people we are suffering every day. Many people around the world have been searching for information to better understand what is happening in the Middle East.

By way of a little background, it is useful to know that the conflict between Jewish

Israelis and Palestinian Arabs has a long history. There have been wars, periods of peace and yet more conflict.

Central to it is land and who it should belong to.

The latest violence began after confrontations between Israeli police and Palestinians during the Islamic month of Ramadan, in particular in occupied East Jerusalem.

One of the main triggers were clashes at a holy site revered

by Muslims and Jews along with the threatened eviction of some Palestinian

families from their homes. Hamas, the Islamist group that rules Gaza, demanded

Israel remove the police. When its ultimatum went unheeded, Hamas fired

rockets from Gaza into Israel.

Israel launched airstrikes on Gaza.

After 11 days of conflict, Hamas officials said 232 people had been killed in Gaza. Medical

Services reported 12 people being killed in Israel. Then on Thursday night a ceasefire was agreed.

The sound from Gaza to the news, but the damage to relationships and lives it will
