Senator, welcome back. Our negotiating team is headed to Islamabad. I am curious about the metrics

by which we judge any quote deal.

First of all, is any limit on enrichment acceptable to you or should the deal be no enrichment?

Well, here I support what the president has said all along, and I mean, that goes back 10 years here.

It goes back more than 10 years.

It goes back when he was playing into Fox and Friends in the morning. He meets no enrichment. And no enrichment means no enrichment. Iran has no reason to enrich uranium. I certainly don't have a right. There are many countries around the world with peaceful civilian nuclear power programs that don't enrich uranium. They say they need it for medical research.

But, Hugh, when was the last time you saw an Iranian doctor standing up on the Nobel

prize stand collecting his prize for medical research?

All of this is just flimsy excuse for the nuclear infrastructure needed for nuclear

weapons.

That's why the president has been clear for more than a decade.

Iran cannot

enrich uranium. And it should not be a 20-year or a 15-year deal. It should be forever. How about do we

need, do we have to get back the H.E.U, highly enriched uranium, in your view, for it to be a

successful negotiation? I think that's certainly the best case outcome, Hugh, as we've discussed in the past,

that enriched uranium currently buried in the ruins of Iran's nuclear bunkers is not particularly
