We are in isaiah chapter

57 uh we're talking about the futility of israel's idolatry that they can't seem to

you know wrap their minds around like the the futility of this whole thing uh god says now, I would expect you to be lying on the ground

in the fetal position with all hope, having left your body. But no, somehow, you're like,

maybe if we just, you know, idolize harder, like, that's what we're going to do. Let's get up

and we'll do idolatry even more, more idolatry.

We're not being idolatrous enough. That's the problem. And God says that's not what I was hoping for.

I was hoping that you would have no hope. That's what I was hoping for.

Yeah, but they found new life for their strength, right?

Let's get up and let's do this all thing, whole thing over again, but even more so.

And that then leads to the next three verses, which is Isaiah 57, 11 through 13, that will wrap up this particular section.
