I'm not even sure what was in it, but I feel an amped.

Wasn't an energy drink. It was a smoothie. No, it was a smoothie. It was all that peanut butter you put in it. Yeah, all that peanut butter and chocolate. No, there's no chocolate in there. Okay, so last week we talked about two chapters, Isaiah 3 and 4. this week we're going to to do Isaiah chapter 5. As we often do, I think

let's get our bearings real fast. Is there any sort of overall structure of the book of Isaiah,

not the whole book, but like where we are at the moment that we should talk about and remind our

listeners of before we sort of begin to plod through the chapter? Well, I think two to four is a unit, right?

It begins with the account of the nation streaming to Mount Zion.

It ends, as we saw in chapter four, two to the end of the chapter, talking about how the

Lord is going to raise up a branch, this messianic figure.

And then in between those two visions are accounts of the Lord's judgment

against the men of Israel and against the women of Israel. So that's a unit in itself. And then on

each side, I think you have chapter one and chapter five, which are both these indictments of

judgment against Israel. And that really constitutes the first section of Isaiah. And then as we're

going to see next time as we move into chapter six, we get the calling of Isaiah and the glorious
