My actual name is Isabel Maria Fernand, a very Portuguese name with a foreign last name.

I am from Lisbon.

Part of my education was back in Lisbon at one of the best high schools in the

My parents moved me to California when I was 15, and, you know, we still have, you know,

property in Portugal, and, you know, my parents specially traveled back quite a bit.

And when Madeline went missing, it was very personal for me, just because I know my country,

I know how parents dragged their children all around, you know, restaurants, and it's so

family-oriented, that when the story came up, of course, I felt horrible for them.

The first week, I thought, oh, my God, how did this happen?
