High drive dogs are the most misunderstood group of dogs on the planet. High drive dogs are often intentionally bred for work like protection or herding, and they are motivated and focused. In many instances, high drive dogs are created, and the label of “over-aroused” is applied to a dog who is over-faced and misunderstood.

0:58.0 | by the expectations of their trainer. And because of how these dogs express the stress of |
1:03.8 | their frustration, they're labeled red linings or they're over the top or they're blowing off |

1:11.5 | And it makes me sad because if they were a dog who stressed low, who shut down, who got, |
1:17.9 | you know, looked at their owners worried, who tucked their tail and walked away from training, |
1:22.3 | there'd be a heck of a lot more empathy for those dogs. People would be, oh, buddy, you look |
1:27.3 | afraid. Oh, I'm so sorry. No one would be calling dogs. People would be, oh, buddy, you look afraid. Oh, I'm so sorry. |
1:29.6 | No one would be calling names. They would be helping these dogs to be more confident. |
1:35.0 | High drive dogs on the other hand, people put a ton of effort into, we've got to calm these |
1:39.7 | dogs down. We've got to get them to, you know, let's swaddle them or let's give them the essential oils |
1:46.0 | or give them some medication or let's get them to lower their respiration or lower their heartbreed. |
