| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to Sociology 101. As you can see, we have Lewis Regerio back with us today. Welcome back, Lewis. Thanks for joining me. |
| 0:20.0 | Thank you, Dr. Flowers. Thanks for having me. |
| 0:23.2 | Well, as you may remember, we've had Lewis on before, and he has written a book. Lewis, tell us a little bit about your book one more time for those who are maybe just tuning in and learning about your ministry and your work. |
| 0:33.4 | Well, the book which published back in 2010 is titled, entitled The God of Calvinism of Rebutter of Reform theology. |
| 0:40.1 | Based on about 10, 15 years that I've had to study Calvinism and try to kind of debunk or respond to some of the arguments that Calvinists make regarding Tulip. |
| 0:51.4 | And we have some things in common. |
| 0:53.2 | We've both debated two of the same Calvinists. Both of us debated |
| 0:57.2 | Sonny Hernandez and both of us debated Dr. James White. Is that correct? That's correct. And we, |
| 1:03.8 | so we have some of those things in common. We also obviously agree theologically with each other with |
| 1:09.5 | regard to doctrine of salvation and |
| 1:11.5 | satriology and specifically the doctrine of unconditional election and this can be a |
| 1:17.4 | confusing thing because we as non-Calvinist can in one sense say that salvation is not |
| 1:25.0 | conditioned upon our works or our deeds or how well we keep the law. |
| 1:30.5 | Lewis and I both agree, you know, you're not, you're not, people aren't saved based upon |
| 1:34.6 | how many commandments they keep correctly or how, how good they are, the good and the bad they |
| 1:40.0 | end up doing. We're not, we're not saved conditioned upon our morality. But there is a condition for |
| 1:45.4 | salvation. And that condition is clearly faith in Christ Jesus. So we're not saved by our own |
| 1:50.6 | righteousness. We're saved by the righteousness of Christ. But when we're talking about the |
| 1:55.7 | doctrine of unconditional election, we're specifically talking about the you in the tulip. |
| 2:02.2 | So, Lewis, why don't you talk a little bit about that? What is it about the doctrine of |
| 2:06.5 | unconditional election from the Calvinistic vantage point that you disagree with and why? And |
| 2:11.6 | let's just kind of talk through that. Well, the Calvinists generally believe that God elects people on no basis at all. The election is unconditional. There's no condition. Basically, God pretty much willy-nilly elects one person and not another. There's no works or nothing about the way a person looks or acts or whatever by which God |
