One of the most important things I've learned covering Donald Trump over the last few years

is just how different the US government looks to rich people than it does to the rest of us.

How easy it is to get out of or delay accountability for so many different things

if you have a good legal team and if you have a good team of accountants

and you just try it and then say, hey, you know, come after me.

And I think that's the way that Trump has dealt with legal investigations

his whole career, not dealing with the facts, but challenging the system,

suing people who sue him, attacking those who investigate him.

But the way he's used the tax code, this to me shows it's another sign in which Trump is sort of revealing
