Dr Tamika Cross is a board certified OB/GYN who graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science. After attending medical school at Meharry Medical College, Dr. Cross completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas McGovern Medical School. Dr. Cross has received several awards for her dedication to her community including United States Congressional Recognition and being named Becker Hospital Review Top 60 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.
After being discriminated against on a Delta flight herself (who didn't believe she was a doctor!) she went on to write a book "This is what a doctor looks like". We hear her story and talk about the disparities in healthcare for minorities.
