Everyone who's been a Christian for a few years

has a favorite Bible verse or two, or ten.

I'm pretty sure there's no exceptions to that.

Now, there are over 31,000 verses in the Bible.

All 31,000 are helpful. So what makes some verses into favorites? Well there's no

independent universal criteria for answering that question. You can have a

favorite verse for whatever reason you want.

No one is going to tell you that you're wrong. When I say I have favorite Bible verses,

what I mean is that these are verses that have taught me important truths, and they've usually

come at an important time in my life.

These are verses God has used in my life to teach me truths that I come back to over and over and over.

And maybe that's the reason these Bible verses are shaping me into the person that I'm still in the process of becoming.
