The Amazon Echo, better known as Alexa, sorry if that's triggered them all, has become part of the furniture in millions of people's homes.

But if you have one, do you actually ever use it to buy anything?

Amazon, like much of big tech, is going through some big layoffs, the biggest in its company's history, and it has plans to eliminate 10,000 jobs.

One of the areas that's been hit the hardest is the Alexa Voice Assistant Unit.
