We're going to answer at the SEC's dominance of college football is at an end.

It's Black Monday, and we have some firings we're going to discuss.

And we debut our new participation trophy segment with a shout out to Joy Taylor and Skip Bayless. The SEC's utter dominance over college football, like in the last 20 years, I think it's over.

I don't think any conference will ever dominate like that again.

You know the league that since 2005 has won 13 of 20 national championships, including

five different teams within that same conference winning,

and that's not counting Texas. And they also have a stretch of winning the Natty for seven

straight years in a row. And don't even get me started on the NFL draft. It's a moot point.

And it's not because the SEC cares less now or that they did something wrong, it's because of the evolution of the

game with NIL and the transfer portal has made it near impossible to monopolize the sport by

a conference or a coach of a specific team like Nick Sabin did at Alabama or Kirby Smart almost

did at Georgia. Now, that isn't to say the SEC won't dominate some years or have the best

team in others, but the era of this league or any league overwhelmingly owning this sport, well, it's over.

Now, the passion behind the teams of the SEC will still be the highest in aggregate, but the on-field

results will not be. And it's actually a great thing for the

sport. We need champions to span from coast to coast and border to border. We need continuous change

in the big boy chair for college football to thrive at its highest. Now, would anyone be shocked

that the SEC won at all next year or a specific team? No,

that's not what I'm saying. But the days of a singular conference winning seven national

titles in a row, well, that's gone. And being from SEC country like I am, for some,
