Sean, it's funny looking at this, Notre Dame football team, and it's funny, and I don't even mean funny in like a ha-ha way.

Funny is more of an ironic way, even somewhat a disappointing way.

But just more of like a, well, didn't call this one right, when you're coming into the the season the one thing that i was certain of

was two things i was certain of one i was certain that the nerdym defense is going to still be

really really good and i was certain that eventually the nton name offense is going to be really

really good but it hasn't necessarily played out that way in either side because it took one game for

the Noreme offense to figure things out with a new quarterback and new players.

The defense has been disappointing.

But, Sean, we've seen a Notre Dame offense in four games, despite playing four straight

power four teams.

We've seen a Notre Dame offense that has quickly emerged as one of the best in the nation, Sean.

And that's what we're going to spend our time really talking about here in this next part of the show.

With the premise being, okay, this is all great,

but the question is with the defense playing the way it is and the gap between it playing championship caliber football

and where it is now is enormous.

But you could argue that Notre Dame last year at this point in time,

the gap between where they were offensively and where they needed to be to play

championship caliber football was also enormous.

So the defensive thing, we're going to kind of hold off on talking about that until after

the Boise game, I want to see two games in a row of this defense showing growth.

Then we can talk about, okay, can they become a defense capable of helping this team win

a championship?
