Hi Jimmy, howdy Dom.

In the ancient world, many people believed that the Earth is flat.

But several centuries before Christ, the Greek philosophers began arguing that it is actually a sphere.

Now today most people accept the idea that the Earth is a sphere,

but some believe it is a flat disk.

And the number of people who think so has increased in recent years as the ideas become popular on the internet.

And that's what we'll be talking about on this episode of Jimmy Aiken's Mysterious World.

So Jimmy, I understand there are a few initial notes we want to make. What are they?

The first one is I don't want to start from the position that you must be stupid if you believe in a

flatterer. This is the position that most people in world history have started from.

For reasons it'll become clear. And most people in the history of the world are not stupid.

I've also been contacted by various people who believe in a flat Earth.

And I try to treat them with the same respect that I want to treat everybody else with.

So we'll be observing the same practice in this episode of the show.
