Good Monday morning, folks.

It is, well, actually, it's Monday afternoon for the majority of the country.

I didn't go live until 1 o'clock today.

1,300 hours.

That's 1 o'clock for you, civilian touch 1 p.m.

Anyway, got a bunch of stuff to talk about today. Mostly new stuff, and then we'll hit a few things that are going on here at the homestead. What are we going to talk about today? Well, you know, the government shutdown has not been that big of a deal for most people, and for all the talks of, our troops won't get paid. Shut up, you've never been in the military, you don't know how it works. Your bank will give you the money and take the money when that counts. They know that the troops will get back paid. It's been done many times. I did it in 1992. I'm sure people can figure out how to do it today. So that's not a problem.

You know, it might be a problem?

Snap benefits, right?

Snap benefits are going to run out.

In fact, they're running out today, but it will actually, the rubber will start meeting the road as of November first.

Most states will not be able to pay out any SNAP benefits.

Some will be paying out partial for a while and then run out.

But most states do not have the funds where they can pay it back, pay it out,

and then get it back from the government.

Because it's doable, but they don't have money.

And while the banks will, you know, basically take the history of an LES, they're not going to finance billions of dollars to a state government for this.

So that's going to happen.

And that could turn into a real freaking mess.

Really, really bad.
