Now, here's today's Breakpoint.

The mission of scientific discovery, Johannes Kepler believed, was to,

quote, think God's thoughts after him.

And even for scientists, skeptical of the supernatural, at least for a long time,

the task of science has been to discover truth.

As a fictional scientist and jewels verons a journey to the center of the earth,

put it, quote, science my lad is made up of mistakes, but they're useful because they

lead little by little to the truth.

And quote, today, however, the pursuit of truth in natural sciences is increasingly being

eclipsed by the tyranny of political correctness.

And some frustrated scientists are now crying foul.

An early November, in fact, over 150 professors and scholars gathered at Stanford University

to talk about this, the growing threats to the scientific enterprise and academic freedom.

Among the speakers was a Williams College Biology professor, Dr. Luana Maroa, who gave a troubling

presentation on the ways progressive ideology is strangling her discipline.
