Coley Harvey, paint the picture for me of the Big Race on Saturday night.

Wow, man, it was, uh, there was a lot of electricity.

Coley Harvey is on the track and field beat for E-SPN and on Saturday night

witnessed a big moment for America's strongest sprinting star Shakary Richardson.

It's my first time here in Eugene and the crowds have been great, the energy has been awesome.

On Saturday, I walked into that day not really knowing what to expect in terms of

Shaquarie Richardson and her time and what we were going to see from that

100 meter semi-final and then final.

This 100 meter final at the US track and field trials was Richardson's chance to qualify for this summer's Olympics in Paris.

And I just saw this focus within her that she didn't have in the previous heats.

It was just like she was so locked in, so determined

that she was going to not just cross the line first, but she was going to have a time that

was going to really kind of set the stage on fire, so to speak.

You could just feel that electricity, you could feel the buzz, got very quiet as it typically does,

but it just seemed like it was even more quiet

than usual right before the start right before the pistol goes off. Step. As soon she crosses the line first, she took off for another, basically another 50, 60 meters

down the track, down the turn before she finally kind of stopped took that knee

bent her head clearly said some type of prayer was really basking in the emotion of that

moment before running up into the stands and seeing her family.

I know that the hardware got put in to knock even just physically on the track, but it's mentally and

emotionally to grow into the matrillion lady that I am today was a full-fledged surreal moment for me to

actually embrace and be able to show to the world and on the track today.
