Today we have what I consider an unexpected gem in a conversation

with someone that I have been communicating with over the text line. I do respond to the text line if you're

interested in in talking to me. It's 3059307-346. That is where I met

Carter Smith Wellman. Carter Smith Wellman is a guide in

St. Croix. He's the only inshore guide on St. Croix. Not only that, but he is fishing bonefish in a slightly different way

than maybe anyone listening to this.

We all have a story of catching a bonefish on a pilchard

or, you know, a jig or something

where we were kind of not expecting to catch a nice bonefish and we catch one on something that didn't seem like a bonefish bait.

But he's doing that regularly. He's catching them with with repalas, with swim baits, diving baits, and he is targeting

bonefish with those lures and doing it very, very effectively. He goes over the history of St. Croix, tells us quite a lot about his fishery there.

I really thought this was one of the most interesting podcasts that we've done in quite sometimes
