but you know you have fruits of the spirit if fruits are required? I'm not sure I quite understand

her question there, but maybe you do. Adri. Well, you know, I think for a lot of people where

they get assurance from or where they think we're supposed to get our assurance from

is primarily from, you know, whether or not we're bearing fruit.

And so, you know, I can't have assurance of salvation unless I can see that evidence of faith

in my life, which is the fruit that I'm bearing.

Love, joy, peace, patience, and so forth.

Now, I think it is, it's fine, and there's nothing wrong with looking at our lives and saying,

okay, I can really see the work of the Lord in my life.

I can see the grace of God, you know, ever since embracing Jesus Christ.

But we should ask the question, is assurance primarily supposed to come from something that we do?

Or should assurance primarily come from the objective promise of God to us in the gospel?

And I would say, first and foremost, our assurance, our confidence has to be in what God has done and what He's promised us.
