stressed. The news just was a flood of news on Monday, and it's been relatively quiet. And so

that leads us to our discussion today. Is perfection needed for Michael Malone to have success

at North Carolina? And we're talking about roster-wise.

Your original or your initial take on that idea,

and then we'll dig into it a little further.

Well, I think the easy answer there is we have no idea.

And I think that's where some of the consternation comes from.

If we just look back over, well, let's say the last 20 years, 20 plus years,

Roy Williams consistently had his teams ranked high in the preseason,

whether or not they finished that way,

because there was a full expectation among media members

that he's going to have pretty good talent.

He does a really good job of developing talent.

He can evaluate talent because he can bring in people like Gerson and Luke May and Cam Johnson and all these types of players who are

somewhat overlooked.

There certainly were not top 20 type players.

You know, Bryce Johnson's in that mix, Kennedy Meeks.

But over time, he coached them up.

And he knew what worked within his system.

And by and large, he had an incredible amount of success.

And so because of that, there was that expectation that Roy Williams is going to put a good product on the court.
