Hi Katie. It was a long holiday weekend but also a really busy one awards

wise both the PGA Awards and the

SAG Awards happened over the weekend with two different winners which gives us a

lot to talk about in this short award season that does feel kind of

excitingly up in the air at least in the best

picture race. We'll also talk a little bit about Sundance. We're shipping

Richard off to the mountains of Utah in a couple days to see all of next year's

best picture nominees. I think that's how Sundance usually goes right?

Oh nothing but winners. It was so excited to see Joker at Sundance last year it was.

And then in the back half of this episode I am going to be talking to Ellen Lewis who is the

casting director for the Irishman and has worked with Scorsese for many years.

Casting directors are kind of famously do not have a category at the Oscars which a lot of people

see is a big injustice but they also have their own awards

called the Argyz Awards, so we can talk to her about that and casting, I think, one of the most fascinating

cast of the year.

But I guess speaking of cast, we should start with the SAG awards.
