It's been a long time since we had you on the program.

I think the last time talking about things like

That's some time back. But you're back with us today and we're talking about the area of philosophy of mind.

But tell us a little bit of your background.

You're a Christian philosopher and you've pretty much been in this area all of your academic life really haven't you?

Yes I have. I was a philosopher before I was a Christian I should say. I started off as somebody who was

agnostic I think would be the right word to put it and

came to think on philosophical grounds that it was plausible I find it than plausible to see that mind or spirit was more fundamental than matter.

And so given that view I got interested in religion and that went on and I got involved in a church and I became a Christian.

Right. I mean it's interesting obviously one can imagine a form of philosophy persuading someone for a form of theism,

but it's quite a step further to go to Christianity per se and the claims that that makes. Well that is true and a lot of people say that.
