Is Oneness or sometimes referred to as Apostolic

or sometimes referred to as Jesus only,

Pentecostalism, Christian?

Now, Oneness Pentecostalism began in 1913

at a Pentecostal camp meeting in California with about 2,000 attendees.

During the baptismal service, R. E. McAllister, he said that apostles baptized in Jesus' name, according to Acts chapter 2, verse 38,

not in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, according to Matthew 2819.

This inspired John Shappi, who claimed to receive this revelation during the night while they were having this camp meeting about the power of Jesus' name.

And together these guys, along with others, concluded that God is not three persons, but three manifestations,

identifying Jesus as God.

In 1914, they rebaptized each other in Jesus' name and began preaching this non-Trinitarian belief,

not Trinitarian meaning one God in three persons.

Shortly after that, Assemblies of God formed actually that year, 1914, and they rejected

the Oneness doctrine and they upheld the Trinity.

Oneness ministers eventually formed their own groups leading to the creation of the United Pentecostal Church International in 1945, which is now the largest Oneness Pentecostal Church.

They have about 45,000 churches, as well as around 45,000 ministers and around 5.8 million members, and they are present in 231 nations and territories.
