Kanye West lost his mind a long, long time ago.

And with it, he lost his family, his endorsements, deals with Adidas and Vogue and Valenciaaga. The list goes on and on.

And, you know, he is a special and particular brand of mentally ill. The kind that somehow manifests as virulent anti-Semitism.

And back in 2023, he apologized for the comments that he had made repeatedly over and over again for years and years about hating Jews and loving Hitler.

It's a difficult take to defend. So most people in his orbit were like,

yeah, no, we're good with you. The line between genius and insanity, I think, is more forgivable,

the younger you are. And then the longer you go on wearing people down, the less patience they have for you

until you get to the point where you alienate everyone out of your life,

whether it's friends, collaborators, agents, lawyers, managers. People just don't want to be around you because your

illness is exhausting. And I've talked about this a lot on this podcast that it's one thing to

talk about your mental illness. It's another thing to be forward looking and to do something about it in quiet, at peace, and then let the results of your work speak for themselves.

That's the part that is not terribly attractive wherever we are in society and people want to ruminate and stew in their mental

illness as though that is a static source for accolades and victimhood and they just kind
