Our scriptural lesson today comes from 1 Samuel chapter 30 and verse 6 through 8 in the

NIV version of the scriptures.

There you'll notice these words.

David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him.

Each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters.

But David found strength in the Lord His God. And so can you.

bring me the Ephod. And Abbeahah brought it to him. And David inquired of the Lord,

shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them? Pursue them, he answered.

You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.

I'm speaking today simply from the subject, is it worth it?

Is it worth it?

Have you ever bought something offline and then when you get it home in the mail?

You realize it's not worth it.

Have you ever gone to a program and you realize it, this was not worth my time?

Have you ever had a conversation with somebody, read a book or looked at a movie, and realized this was not worth my attention?

Have you ever just dealt with things and you realize this wasn't worth it?

So you need to always ask the worth question.

Is it worth it? Is it worth it? Here David was in,

he was in a bind, he was in a pickle. As you know, David had taken men that were discouraged,

the rejects of society, and he built an army of these men and these were his, this was his army,

disenfranchised, discouraged, disreputable men who had been thrown away by society,
