today we are honored to be talking to the national treasure that is mr david suzuki

we are going to be asking him if it is too late to deal with the climate crisis and hear about his

amazing insight into where we are at in regards to the environmental movement. Mr. David

Suzuki, we are huge fans and honor to have you here. But for those listening who might not

know who you are, if you could give a brief introduction, we'd appreciate that. Well, I'm an old man.

I'm a grandfather of 10 great, wonderful grandchildren. And I'm a retired professor of the University of

British Columbia I'm a geneticist and I hosted the nature of things for 44 years

and that's basically what we grew up knowing you as something interesting for me

listening to you in recent interviews,

you know, we were kind of in the news. You've been environmentalists for many decades. And I kind of

wanted to start this interview right off the bat, kind of touching on what was in some of those

interviews and asking, do you think it's too late to stop climate change?

Oh, it's already happening now.

The only thing that we've been fighting against was the question of how much were we going to tolerate. And in 2018, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change came out with a very surprising report called a special report.

Now remember the IPCC, which is the most authoritative organization of climatologists around the world,

comes out with a report every five years.

But because it's an intergovernmental panel on climate,

every single report is vetted by every country, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the U.S.

So they're always very cautious and conservative in their predictions for the next five years.

And every five year report has fallen way below what actually happened. So it was really shocking

when they came out with a special report that said, look, we must not allow
