I'm John Donovan of ABC News, and this is another debate from Intelligent Squared U.S.

Joining me on the stage, two teams of two members each.

We have arguing for the motion, Peter Galbraith and Lawrence Corb,

against the motion, Elliot Cohen and Elliot Abrams.

I want to remind you, this is a debate. It's a contest.

It's a contest of ideas and an argumentation, and you, our audience,

will be the judges of this contest. By the time the debate has ended,

Round one, we have opening statements by each debater in turn,

and our first debater up to speak for this motion. Peter Galbraith,

he's a former U.S. diplomat. He served as a special deputy representative of the UN,

and Afghanistan. He was the first U.S. ambassador to Croatia.

He is currently a Vermont state senator. His entire life has been involved in diplomacy,

including a stint, as a cabinet member of the transitional government of East Timor,

which comes Peter with what sorts of perks? Passport?
