Is it possible to pray too much?

This is a great question. Let's answer it.

This is like the second take or third take of this.

I'm an ex-father Mike Schmitz and this is essentially a sentence.

Let's try to apply to a relationship with the Lord.

The same criteria will apply to any human relationship.

Someone could make the claim that this person is spending way too much time with that other person.

So for example, you know, someone just just meets, because it could be an inordinate amount of time, right?

If you're spending, you just meet someone, you're spending all of this time with them.

Immediately, you imagine friends and family would say, I think this is little, but as time goes on,

you'd recognize that, wow, no, this couple is, they're going steady or they're engaged or they're married.

So somewhere in there, you think like, no, we actually, because you're getting ready to get married or because you are married,

you actually ought to spend in an inordinate amount of time with each other.

You shouldn't spend the same amount of time with other people that you spend with the person you're planning to get married to.

Now, the question again is not going to be, this is important, we have to go back to this.

The question is not going to be, do I think, why I think you're spending too much time with each other?

That's not, that's not going to be the question.

The question is, how do I know if it is, if it's true? Well, let's say very, very simply, this would be the metric to measure this.

And the metric would be, am I failing to fulfill the obligations I have because I'm spending too much time with this other person?

So we all have obligations, right? We all have things that we need to do, whether they need to go to work, or to go to school.

I have other relationships, other people in my life that actually have a claim on me.

They have a claim on my time. I have an obligation to them in some way, shape or form.
