James Winston did not practice for a second straight day but I'm just gonna throw out a hot

take for you here I think it's actually worse for the Vikings if Andy Dalton starts.

The last time he played the Vikings, he kind of kept things under control and won the game

with a good defense and a good running game for the Dallas Cowboys two years ago.

James Winston is broken and he's all over the place way up and down but more down than up leads the league in interceptions I feel like

they're they're worse off I think they should beat either one but they're worse off

if Andy Dalton plays so my usual thing is that the Viking fan perspective of,

hey, like, oh, backup quarterbacks are scary.

We don't want to face backup quarterbacks.

Like, I think that's a little overblown in general. I

understand where it comes from when you lose to Chase Daniel and Matt Moore and

obviously Nick Fools in the NFC championship game and Andy Dalton in 2020 Cooper Rush last year like I get it. the named five games but the thing is they probably lose those games any like if

Patrick Mahomes plays in that Kansas City game they lose if they play DAC the

last couple years they probably lose like maybe if Mitch Trebiskyi plays instead of Chase Daniel, I don't know, but the thing is, like I generally think it's overblown. You usually would like to face a backup quarterback because there is a reason why they are the backup quarterback.

With that said, in this specific case, I can very much get behind the argument that facing

James Winston would be better because James Winston just chucks the ball down field and takes a ton of chances and he leaves the league with five

interceptions he threw a pick six he threw 30 interceptions a couple years ago like there's a risk reward with that style where

he could come up with some big plays against the Vikings cornerback group that is

really lacking in speed but there would be opportunities for takeaways and for sacks and for

forced fumbles and especially with James being banged up with the back and I
