0:08.6	computer scientist Orrin Etsioni to talk about a new tool to detect AI generated content. As AI technology is
0:15.4	getting better, the ability to tell reality from unreality will only grow. Already deepfakes are being used to scam people, extort them, influence elections, and there are lots of
0:27.7	sites out there that claim to be able to detect if a piece of content was created using
0:31.1	AI.
0:32.1	But if you've used these sites, you know that they're
0:34.0	unreliable to say the least. There are also folks out there who are working to
0:38.1	build better tools, people who understand the science of artificial intelligence, and want to see a future where we can
0:43.7	actually know what's real on the internet.
0:46.2	And one of those folks is Orrin Etsioni, who's the founding CEO of the Allen Institute for
0:50.8	Artificial Intelligence and his nonprofit True Media.org has just
0:54.3	launched their state-of-the-art AI detection tool. And I'll just say that here at the
0:58.4	Center for Humane Technology we think it's critical not to just point out problems
1:02.0	but highlight the important work that's being done
1:04.0	to help address these problems.
