Mass protests have swept the country over the past few days, originally focused on the economic crisis in the country, but that's clearly extended to opposition to the regime. What is, what, what, what, how significant is this? i'm also very interested in obviously the role of

the u.s israel and the role of reza palavi who is the son of the deposed shah of iran who

who had a very brutal dictatorship a u.s backed dictatorship back in the 1970s, which was installed

in 1953 after a CIA and MI6 backed coup against the progressive government.

It's great to speak to again. I guess, firstly, just how significant is this? Is this existential?

Because we've seen back in 2022, 2019,

obviously before that, 2009, mass protests,

which actually became millions of people on the streets,

but ultimately they didn't succeed.

How significant do you think these are

compared to those previous protests?

Yeah, I think, you know, to judge the significance of these protests, you know, that's the right

approach, just to weigh them against the barometer of the past major process movements in Iran,

because as I'm sure most of the people watching

this know, and even people have tangentially followed Iran, there's been waves of protests every
