The viewership for this game, Notre Dame versus Yukon, the largest viewing audience for a pre-January

women's NCAA game on ESPN since 2011. And I just thought that was a nice moment, a nice

check-in moment where sometimes I think we hand ring a little bit too much about where the fandom

for women's basketball is coming from. There's always this concern that the Caitlin Clark effect

will leave when she leaves college basketball ranks. That was not true. A lot of people

watch that game, myself included, and got a really cool game that set some really interesting

narratives for the rest of the season. Hello, everybody, and welcome to today's edition of The Late Sub.

It is Monday, December 16th, and we're going to do a little bit of a deep dive into college basketball

and then hit on just some of the other major things going on in women's sports right now.

We're going to talk the volleyball tournament, NCAA tournament.

We've made it to the final four.

We're going to talk NWSL college signings in the new landscape there. We're going to talk about the

Euro's draw because there's some deathy, group of deathy stuff happening in the Euro's

draw. And then, yeah, we're going to talk a little bit about some of the big picture and sort

of micro picture stuff in college basketball because this is the time to do a lot of overanalysis of individual results so that we can all look very, very smart once we make it to March.

So I do think the biggest story this weekend, this week is still probably some of the college basketball non-conference scheduling that we've seen.
