0:24.1	I've been hurt by the church enough to know that God can't really be good.

0:31.8	If God cared, he would have stopped him from hurting me.
0:35.7	If God really loved me, I wouldn't be sick, alone,
0:40.6	divorced, hurting, dying. See, in a world full of pain, of hurt, violence, evil, and injustice,
0:51.0	chances are that you haven't escaped the reaches of devastating circumstances in your life,
0:56.9	the early death of a friend, parent, child, or grandparent, an illness that keeps coming back,
1:03.6	relationships ripped apart, wars destroying homes, childhoods being stolen by sexual violence,
1:10.4	natural disasters, devastating cities.
1:13.6	Our circumstances are constantly changing. It can feel like nothing is certain.
1:19.3	Nothing is steady in this life. Nothing is promised. Oftentimes, the changing tide of our
1:25.5	circumstances can shape the way that we see God.
1:29.3	Like when things are good, God is good. He is present. He is faithful. He's blessing you.
1:35.7	But when circumstances change for the worse, we begin to question, was the world right?
1:41.2	Is he real? Does he even care? I've been there many times before,
1:47.0	wondering if I've imagined the goodness. But as I read today's passage, I was encouraged by
1:53.0	the example I saw in the Shunamite woman and Elisha. See, we're jumping into a story that's
1:59.0	already developing. This woman has been providing food
2:02.8	and a place of refuge for Elisha whenever he comes through her town. And Elisha, wanting to thank her
