All right, let's talk about Joseph Campbell and following your bliss today.

If you don't know who Joseph Campbell is or you don't like reading very much, check out the power of myth.

It's an interview he did with Bill Moyers a long time ago. That's some pretty happening music in there. And then I love this. This is a cool documentary style thing. Lots of

interviews with different types of people, including my buddy Brian Johnson. He's in there.

This is great for young people too, but it's a great introduction to Joseph Campbell's work.

I'm a big fan of both of those.

Joseph Campbell is famous for lots of things, but one of the things that he said was follow

your bliss.

And follow your bliss has gotten this connotation in our culture that if you just follow your

bliss, then everything's just going to work

out. All your bills will be paid. Your entire life is just going to fall into place, and there

aren't going to be any challenges there. Our fucking troubles are over, dead. That's not quite true.

So what do I mean by following your bliss?

I think what he's really talking to is just the thing that gives us joy.

And it's also a sense of, I'd have to add a sense of flow,

where our sense of self seems to go away, that time seems to go away,

that things feel effortless for us.

There's a richness to the experience.
