| 0:37.9 | on Black Friday, that, you know, in many ways, not all, but in many ways the economy is doing well. |
| 0:43.6 | And yet, economic anxiety is everywhere. |
| 0:46.8 | It is just driving so much of our politics and our discourse. |
| 0:49.9 | People seem to feel, if not quite poor, then unstable and uncertain about their future. |
| 0:55.7 | Why do people feel so poor if they're so rich? |
| 0:58.9 | They're rich, but their future is unstable and uncertain. |
| 1:01.6 | Like, people are right, actually. |
| 1:03.9 | And the reason for that is because of the political risk that is built into our economic system. |
| 1:08.6 | We have a bunch of idiots in charge of crucial |
| 1:12.8 | institutions and crucial industries, including and especially healthcare and education, |
| 1:17.0 | that are government actors who do what they want and who aren't responsive to economic |
| 1:22.7 | signals in the way that we would like them to be. So people are right, that they have money |
| 1:26.8 | now, and also that they can't count on that |
| 1:29.3 | money being worth as much as they think it will be, or they can't count on that money |
