We're going to bring in a legal expert, Ellie Mistal, to further break it down.

But, Danielle, I feel more optimistic.

I think we're two different sides of this coin.

I feel more optimistic that he will be convicted because in the past week,

we've seen several police officers from his own department, including the chief of police

in his own department, come in and say he was wrong, he used force incorrectly, the things he was doing here were not

within our policy. You never see police officers coming in and testifying against an officer.

There's all sorts of policing culture issues that go against that ever happening. So the the idea of jurors, to me, the idea of jurors lining up on his side to save him from a

life in prison seems hard to see when his own former police department is like, no, he fucked up.

And we are not supporting this motherfucker.

I mean, the reality is that we are looking at this from, I believe, an emotional lens.

And what the jury is going to be instructed to do is look at it from a technical lens.

This is why, even regardless of how flimsy, I find the defense's case, they are talking about

the drugs in George Floyd's system, whether or not that could have contributed to his death.

They are talking about the position, well, was his knee really on his neck or was it on his,

was it on his back shoulder blade? Right. Like they are using these obscure things because what they're

going to try and do and what I think that they are working to do is confuse the jury, right?

And say, well, you can't convict him of murder two or of murder three if these technicalities don't match up. But I think that the
