Welcome to the What Bitcoin did podcast.

0:05.0

Hi there, welcome to episode 13 of the What Bitcoin did podcast

0:11.0

and this week's show has already proved to be controversial as on

0:15.4

Sunday I met with Dr Craig Wright. I put this out on Twitter and I've already

0:20.2

had quite a bit of feedback, some positive, people who really want to hear the interview, and yeah, quite a few that are negative.

0:27.5

So this intro might be a little bit longer than normal as there's a few things I want to cover. So one of the things

0:35.1

that came up on Twitter a few times was people asking me why I'm going to give a

0:39.3

platform to this fraud which is a question which really echoes what Vitalik Booter in said at the

0:46.5

recent Deeconomy conference. So look I recognize the issues that people have with Craig but

0:52.3

1:23.5

Italic. I don't agree that it is a right approach to try and censor Craig

1:27.3

or for a community leader to push for that. I think it's far better if we don't

1:32.1

like someone or we don't agree with someone that we challenge them and we discuss these issues with them.

1:37.0

So yeah, I met with Craig. From my limited knowledge, I support off-chain scaling, but I would never claim to be technical enough to really know which is best

1:46.3

My opinion is often influenced by those people on this side of the scaling debate who I respect and trust people like Jameson Lop and Charlie Lee who have both been on the podcast

1:55.8

But I could never say that I really truly understand what is technically best

2:00.9

I just understand the arguments which have put to me, but I'm out there to interview people and I don't want to live in an echo chamber and I think all size of the debate should be heard.

2:11.0

So I'm not just here to interview our heroes. I'll interview
