0:50.5 | concerned about? That really is the heart of the question, what do you mean by that? |
0:57.0 | So it means different things to different people. But let's talk about some things that it doesn't mean, |
1:03.5 | or that shouldn't mean. And to answer the question, I do think it is a problem and can be a problem. |
1:11.6 | So Christian nationalism could mean several different things, |
1:15.6 | but one idea is that America was founded as a Christian nation and should remain a Christian nation. |
1:22.6 | Other ideas that we should fight for a Christian identity for our nation. And sometimes I can even mean |
1:31.4 | potentially violence or civil war. So obviously these problems are very problematic. And for some, |
1:38.7 | it might even be connected with racial identity or ethnic identity. Obviously, that's a problem. |
1:45.7 | So let me back up and start with the biblical concept. First of all, I think we should love our family, love our society, |
1:52.5 | love our community, love our nation. That's called patriotism. So patriotism is love of country. |
1:59.6 | I think that's expected. We're to love our neighbor as our self. |
2:02.9 | Well, by extension, then our neighbors would certainly be our own nation. |
2:08.7 | You do have examples of in the Psalms pray for the peace of Jerusalem. |
