Summary

Is ChatGPT a tool or a crutch? A shortcut or a spark? In this episode, I sit down to unpack the cultural unease around AI—why we’re embarrassed to use it, what it says about creativity today, and whether relying on ChatGPT is cheating or just the new way of thinking.

Why does using a robot to write feel shameful, even when it helps us say what we mean more clearly? Is the fear of AI really about the tech—or is it about what it reveals about us?

If you’ve ever used ChatGPT and felt guilty, curious, or quietly impressed, this one’s for you.

Hello everybody. I'm Lexi Lombard, host of the Lexi podcast, and I would like to tell you how I came to this episode because I'm not sure you're going to predict how I'm going to feel.

0:18.6

I think a lot of you might have an idea if you're a regular listener, if you know me well on what I probably think about AI and chat GPT. But how I even

0:27.0

came to this episode, it's because I was not stricken with an idea this week. Typically, I'll record

0:33.0

right after I think of an idea. So it doesn't matter if it's first thing in the morning, right before I go to bed, on a weekend, it doesn't matter.

0:40.4

When the idea strikes and I have something to say, I want to go ahead and do it now.

0:45.5

That being said, time was ticking and I thought, I don't really know what I want to talk about

0:50.5

this week.

0:51.3

Last week's episode was on decluttering and I really enjoyed it. I could go on

0:56.1

about that and I heavily considered creating a second part to that topic even though I've already

1:01.8

created a second part that existed as a YouTube video. So I'll link that down below if you're

1:06.3

interested. And I still think I'm going to make a follow-up video for it because decluttering is a lifelong

1:12.5

process and I think it's a lot more spiritual than maybe anyone would initially consider it to be.

1:19.7

But getting to know your belongings and your space and seeing how you can keep your space

1:24.8

and why you're holding on to certain items.

1:29.2

It involves a good bit of introspection.

1:31.4

And I wanted to continue that.

1:39.3

But then I figured, let me see what else I could talk about how interesting getting a dog has been and how it's changed my life.

1:46.1

I also was thinking about talking about childbearing age and the concept of if you're not going to conceive a child while being in child-bearing age, you know, not that you never will, but I'm a child,

1:52.2

I am a child, Frodean slip, I'm child-bearing age, but I'm not in a position to have a child

1:58.7

right now. So what if I had a brain child? Thought about that.

2:02.2

When mental health is low, maybe you're just in your ludial face, maybe you're on the verge of a

2:06.6

meltdown, wanting to talk about where is there even a flicker of life in you today and how to
