This week saw weed history happen in real time when the federal government announced its officially rescheduling cannabis out of Schedule 1, the most restrictive category. To be clear, so far much remains unclear about this process, which will happen in phases. Amid a lot of confusion, there’s cause for excitement, but also cause for concern. 1:27.0	Schedule 3 and a new expedited administrative hearing
1:31.5	process addressing broader rescheduling will begin on January 29th.
1:37.3	But as always, the devil is in the details, and a lot of the details are yet to be announced. According to reporting by our friends
1:47.4	over at Marijuana Moment, rescheduling won't federally legalize cannabis, but it will remove
1:54.5	certain Schedule 1 research barriers while benefiting state licensed marijuana businesses by allowing them to take federal tax
2:03.1	deductions they're currently barred from taking under an IRS code known as 280E.
