Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101. Today we're going to be talking about, I think, an interesting topic. I hope it's not going to be overly offensive to those who disagree with us.

Obviously, that's not our goal. Those who've tuned in for any length of time know that I

try to show respect to my Calvinistic friends and try to give them fair hearing and representation,

which I hope to do by referencing several Calvinists even in this particular broadcast.

And so the picture there on the screen is the picture that many of you are referencing several Calvinists even in this particular broadcast.

And so the picture there on the screen is the picture that many of you are probably familiar with who grew up with children's Bibles because you might have seen this picture on the

front of it or maybe inside of it.

The picture of Jesus standing looking very mild and meek, knocking on a door in reference to Revelation chapter 3,

which many of you would be familiar with.

We put that up on the screen as well.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock.

If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with mate.

And this imagery is oftentimes used in evangelistic messages of,

hey, Jesus is standing at the door of your heart.

He's knocking.

Won't you let him come in?

And I remember as a Calvinist fighting against or pushing against using that passage in that context

because the context of that passage is not talking to lost people in efforts to bring them to

salvation, but it's in context of the church being called to repentance and to fellowship with the father.

The problem, however, that sometimes Calvinist overlook when they bring critique against our

perspective is that Jesus is still in this, you know, this, this story, he's still standing at the door and knocking.

Does he become, quote, unquote, less sovereign with his own church? In other words, if
