Back in 2011, during Occupy Wall Street protests,

certain HACTIVist collective truly came into its own.

Greetings. We are anonymous.

On September the 17th, we called for a peaceful protest to Occupy Wall Street, and we delivered.

We witnessed the streets of New York flood with protesters in the thousands in Twitter feeds explode with Occupy Wall Street hashtags.

We have marched with one.

The years since, Anonymous exploded in popularity and even became the constant pop culture reference point,

to all hacktivism, or even just hackers.

But as we've discussed on the show, lately, it kind of seems to have disappeared,

until the latest Black Lives Matter protests seemed to have kicked it back into the headlines.
