dog days of summer. We have a little break from politics in DC this week.

Health care is sidelined, ironically, by a health care issue, John McCain

surgery, that plus defections on votes. So I thought it would be a great week for some serious and fun

interviews and we'll have more comment on health care in a minute. Let's start

with the serious. Putting aside the Civil War is America more divided

right now than ever before?

That's the question we'll tackle with one of America's great historians, Dr. Alan Gellso.

Then we'll have some fun with Phil Steele, America's College Football Guru.

But first, let me share some of my own thoughts on the big political stories of the week.

Okay, here we are folks and looks like the Republican health care alternative.

The alternative of Obamacare is dead, at least temporarily

dead unless it's resurrected at some time. Don't see that happening. Lost more votes as we are speaking getting reports of the president having Republican
