We're really in a much worse place than a lot of us here and these fears want to acknowledge.

Some would say that's very pessimistic.

Fundamentally, people in the US unfortunately view politics as a form of entertainment.

It's a kind of sports ball.

Anybody in the world, though, can become an American.

We don't have that over here, and it's trying to be imposed on us.

Their collective identity is to not have an identity.

Our collective identity is individualism.

Why Star Trek in particular?

I came across a couple of Next Generation episodes and I started to pick up on all these

things in it that seemed very, very progressive, even by today's standards, how Gene Roneberry came up with the character, Spock.

He literally wanted to come up with a pointy ear devil.
