I shall do my best to perpetuate the general sense of well-being and happiness with which you're currently surrounded. And actually, I've got, this happens sometimes in the mornings. Does it happen to you? Well, I don't suppose it does, actually, because you don't do this for a living. I sort of found myself resisting the urge to reach immediately for the usual levers this morning.

I failed to resist that urge in the little talk up just before the news.

I do think that it is not a coincidence, shall we say, that as immigration falls off the front pages, except for the relatively small

number of people in the great scheme of things, net migration, that's people coming here

in full accordance with the law is up to 700,000. So people coming here to seek asylum or safety. In total, total is a relatively small part of the picture.

And of course, the people coming over the English Channel in dinghies are an even smaller relatively speaking part of the picture.

But apart from the people in the dinghies, government not really talking about it, right-wing media not really talking about it,

despite spending years

telling you that you had to leave the European Union in order to bring these numbers down.

And at the same time, they have really ramped up, it seems to me, the focus on disabled people

and sick people, people with mobility or mental health problems, long-term
