| 1:11.8 | artificial intelligence, and eventually we will make a computer smarter than humans, able to |
| 1:17.1 | make itself even smarter, and in some rapid avalanche, this will end in a near invincible |
| 1:22.5 | superintelligence, threatening or obliterating humanity. Interestingly, this isn't really what the term was focused on when it first got used, |
| 1:30.9 | and we'll explain that in a bit, but what we're here to do today is explain what a technological |
| 1:35.6 | singularity is, which again has a few different meanings these days, and we'll explain what |
| 1:40.5 | the basis for the fear of its assumed inevitability is. |
